Preliminary actions for the documentation of the industrial heritage in the Aegean, 2001-2004.

The CTC-IMH collaborated as a partner in the research programme “Preliminary actions for the documentation of the industrial heritage in the Aegean” of the Ministry of the Aegean, which was conducted by the INHR of the NHRF.

The programme’s main objectives were the documentation of the major historical industrial sites on the Aegean islands, the creation of an electronic database containing information about the sites, as well as the creation of a restoration and maintenance workshop for machinery and tools. This workshop was created in a section of the old Velissaropoulos textile factory. A petrol-powered engine was restored in the workshop during the course of the research programme.
